WHEN DO I NEED TO BOOK A FLORIST?
As soon as possible, once you have chosen your florist, book the date as soon as you can. Like all good wedding related services dates soon get fully booked.
DO I NEED TO CHOOSE MY FLOWERS SO EARLY?
All you need to do is secure your florist for your wedding date. Florist can be booked 1-2 years in advance. Once you have booked your florist they would normally like to have a provisional meeting at your earliest convience and then approximately 4 weeks before the wedding to finalise everything. We ask for a 10% booking fee to secure your date with ourselves this is non refundable but will be deducted from your final invoice
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE MEETING?
As much information as possible. Style of your gown and the bridesmaids dresses. Samples of colour, any photographs of flowers that you love. Any photographs of the church, venue, marquee etc.
I AM NOT SURE ABOUT WHAT STYLE OF BOUQUET, FLOWERS ETC TO HAVE FOR OUR WEDDING?
The best thing to do is to arrange a meeting with me to see the various flowers and styles of work I do, I've got hundreds of photo's of weddings I have done. At that time you can also see the stunning vases, candelabra mirrors etc as well that you might wish to use at your reception.
WHO WILL MAKE MY BOUQUET?
I will, none of the rest of the team get a chance! Seriously though we all work on your wedding flowers but I always make the bouquet. I will be with you at your appointment and I have many ideas to help you make your dreams and thoughts over your bouquet become a reality.
CAN YOU DELIVER SOME OF THE BUTTONHOLES TO ANOTHER ADDRESS?
Yes we can if it is reasonably close by. If the groom is travelling from away to the wedding venue we can make sure they are at the venue for him and not being in a warm car for some time.
DO YOU SUPPLY PINS WITH THE BUTTONHOLES/CORSAGES?
Yes we do, either pearl or diamante style.
WHAT TIME WILL MY FLOWERS GET DELIVERED?
We normally deliver approximately 2 hours prior to the ceremony but if you wish it delivered earlier we can discuss that at your meeting.
I AM HAVING A CIVIL CEREMONY WITH MY SAME SEX PARTNER AND AM NOT SURE WHAT FLOWERS WE NEED?
At our meeting we can discuss this in detail but there are no set rules. We have had couples who opt for a very traditional approach and others who wish for a contemporary look.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOU VASES, MIRRORS, AND SILVER CANDELABRA ETC?
We do charge a nominal fee for these as they need to be cleaned, replaced etc. We also take a refundable deposit in case of any breakages.
WHAT SORT OF FLOWERS SHOULD I PRESENT TO THE MOTHERS?
We would recommend a hand tied bouquet in either the colours or theme of the wedding or the colours that would go best with their home décor.
WE ARE LOCATED A FAIR DISTANCE FROM YOU, ARE YOU ABLE TO LIASE WITH US BY E MAIL?
Many of our wedding/civil partnerships take place at venues far from us etc. If you are from another part of the UK or anywhere else in the world we can plan your complete floral requirements by e-mail as long as you can jpeg images to me of the gown etc.
IS FABULOUS FLOWERS A COMPANY OR JUST A WEB SITE?
Fabulous Flowers is a sole trading name. This is run by myself Jill Brown of Retford, Nottinghamshire. I do take on casual labour when my work load requires.
WILL YOU SHOW ME A SAMPLE OF THE FLOWERS YOU WILL USE?
We can as long as we know in advance of your meeting with us. If your colour scheme was red we would make sure I have the photo's showing the different flowers and shades in to show you. I also can make up a sample when I show my work at the various wedding fayres I attend in the year.
DO YOU ONLY DO WEDDINGS/ CIVAL PARTNERSHIPS IN YOUR LOCAL AREA?
We can travel throughout the UK. I will make a charge for fuel cost, but my time is free.
DOES IT COST MORE IF WE HAVE OUR CEREMONY IN ANOTHER PART OF THE COUNTRY?
The costs of the flowers are the same if your ceremony is in Cheshire or central London. All that is added to your quote is extra travel and accommodation in a B&B if needed.
WHEN DO I NEED TO PAY?
Once you are happy with your quote an invoice will be raised and payment is due no less than 14 days before your special day.
DO YOU HAVE FISH BOWLS/ SILVER CANDELABRA ETC.?
Yes we have a range of sundries that can enhance your day such as tall and low glass vases, Silver Candelabra, tea light holders, bay trees etc.
CAN YOU MAKE AN ARCHWAY OF FLOWERS OVER THE RECEPTION DOOR?
Yes we can.
CAN I HAVE PEONIES FOR MY SEPTEMBER WEDDING?
So Sorry but they are only available from May-mid July. But we can get large-headed roses which might be of interest
HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU DO A DAY?
We do a maximum of two but depending on the size of your order yours might be the only one that day or even that week!
ARE YOU A QUILIFIED FLORIST?
Yes I hold a NVQ 2/3 Certificate in Floristry of which I did a total of 4 years training to qualify for this.
MUCH OF YOUR WORK IS ROMANTIC, BUT CAN YOU DO MODERN?
Yes what ever you wish. From soft romantic styles to modern and contemporary, what ever style and theme you wish for you special day.
I AM HAVING MY WEDDING ON A SUNDAY, DO YOU DELIVER ON SUNDAYS OR DO I HAVE TO HAVE THEM ON SATURDAY
What ever day you are getting married, we will deliver your flowers fresh that day to you.
I AM HAVING MY CEREMONY BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR IS THAT A PROBLEM?
There are a few flowers which are not available but we can source your flowers directly from Holland the world largest flower market. If your ceremony is on the 27-28th Dec we would have to buy your flowers on the 24th. Any dates after the 28th and we would buy your flowers on the 28th auction.
MY CEREMONY IS IN A LISTED BUILDING. I WOULD LOVE CANDLES BUT CAN I HAVE THEM?
We would contact your venue to discuss this with them but we are able to place candle in storm lanterns, candelabra etc so they are not directly on any furniture etc.
THE CASTLE WERE MY CEREMONY IS BEING HELD IS VERY BEAUTIFUL BUT OUTSIDE IS PLAIN CAN YOU PROVIDE IDEAS FOR AROUND THE OUTSIDE ARCHWAY?
Depending on your budget we can hire to you bay tree, groups of plants in your theme colour and even an arch way of flowers for that celebrity look.
